A Final Tribute to a Life of Service

Veteran & Military Funeral Services in South Florida

Planning a funeral for a veteran can include special arrangements beyond those associated with a traditional funeral or memorial service. Military honors, burial benefits, veteran cemeteries, burial flags, government markers, and required documentation may all need to be considered.

Carib Funeral Home helps families navigate these arrangements and determine which benefits may be available based on the veteran’s service and eligibility.

We can coordinate veteran funeral services alongside traditional burial, cremation, graveside ceremonies, memorial services, and religious or cultural traditions.

Military Funeral Honors

Recognizing a Veteran's Service and Sacrifice

Eligible veterans may receive Military Funeral Honors as part of their funeral or memorial service.

Military honors can provide a powerful and meaningful tribute to the veteran’s service. Depending on eligibility and the arrangements selected by the family, honors may include the ceremonial folding and presentation of the United States flag and the playing of Taps.

Carib Funeral Home can help coordinate these honors with the appropriate military representatives and incorporate them into a funeral, memorial, or graveside ceremony.

Families should provide available military discharge documentation, such as a DD Form 214, as early in the planning process as possible. If documentation is not readily available, our staff can discuss the next steps with you.

Understanding Available Benefits

Veteran Burial Benefits & Memorial Options

Veterans and their families may be eligible for burial and memorial benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Eligibility and the benefits available depend on several factors, including the individual’s military service and discharge status.

Depending on eligibility, benefits may include burial in a national cemetery, a government-furnished headstone or marker, a burial flag, a Presidential Memorial Certificate, and certain burial allowances.

Some eligible spouses and dependents may also qualify for cemetery benefits.

Our funeral professionals can help families identify the documentation needed and coordinate the funeral arrangements with the appropriate cemetery or agency.
